Att 205
.
Dunston entertain Durham City for the second time this season, this time in the league Durham are currently occupying a mid table position after a quarter of the season andnew manger having to build up his squad for this season.
.
Dunston are now in the top 6 of the league but their hopes took a knock as they were defeated by West Allotment on Wednesday night despite being the better team for most of the game. Today they will have to ensure that they convert their chances and score enough to beat the opposition.

Manager Billy Irwin is without suspended David Coulson injured Dale Burrell but has also been hit with losing transferred Danny Craggs (Consett) and Steven Shaw (Ashington) Which stretches the playing squad for today's game.
.
Dunston started well and got an early goal as Andy Bulford picked up a loose clearance
from Durham keeper Cook who had left his area, Bully seeing this lofted a 45 yard shot
over his head and into the net after 4 minutes. On 9 Bulford had a shot from a McAndrew cross saved by Cook. On 11 Wallace had Durhams first shot which went wide of the post form 18 yards out. On 12 Harrison put a free kick into the box which was cleared for a corner, from the corner Ormstons shot at the back post was stopped.
.
Two minutes later Dunston were 2 up as Harrison's corner was headed goal wards by
Ormston and Fenwick was on hand to deflect it into the net. Durham retaliated and Gilhespy did well to block a Davis shot as far as Wallace whose shot was stopped by Connell. A minute later Gilhespy challenged Patton and deflected ball for a corner. From the corner Connell collected and distributed it to McAndrew and the fast moving Gilhespy was fed through the defence only to be adjudged off side. On 19 Scorer challenged Patton and forced the ball away from goal only for Halliday to have to block an incoming shot from Wallace.

.
On 21 Durham got a reward as Patton shot from 15 yards and beat Connell to bring the score to 2 - 1. On 22 Bulford turned in the area buthis shot was blocked.Durham broke and Noble fed Patton but Connell saved his shot. Durham were looking for an equaliser as Davis had a corner selected across the Dunston goal by Fixot, and then Wallace shot wide from Nobles cross. On 30, McAndrew picked the ball up in the Durham half and attacked the defence before shooting low into the near post from 20 yards out 3--‐1 to Dunston. Durham came back on 35 as Fixot shot wide from 18 yards out. On 42 Davis again had a shot which Connell took low down, but on 44 Patton met a cross from Wallace and the ball rebounded of Connell on the second attempt Connell was unable to save and Durham had their second. Just before half time Patton had another shot which Ormston deflected it for a
corner.
.
Half time score: 3--‐2
.
Durham continued the second half on the attack and on 47 Fixot shot over the bar, on 49, Dixon gave away a free kick which was taken by Patton, the shot was deselected off Noble and Connell was forced to push the ball around the post. Dunston got back on 52 as Halliday cross was met by Bulford with the ball going over the bar, then on 54, Bulford had a shot stopped by a defender. Durham responded and Gilhespy blocked a shot from Patton, Patton recoiled from the challenge and the referee gave a penalty, out of the blue, Noble dispatched the penalty and the score was now 3-3 after 57minutes.

.
On 60 Harrison had a free kick scooped away by Cook, Bulford than challenged for the ball and appeared to be pushed but in the referees eyes he was adjudged to be feigning a foul and was cautioned instead of the penalty. On 62 Harrison again played in a free kick which Scorer headed just wide. On 65 Gilhespy again broke from his defensive shackle and this time crossed the ball low, Bulford missed it but McAndrew at the back post was unable to control the ball quickly and his shot hit the side netting. On 70 Fenwick was on the end of a Halliday through ball and struck the ball into the net for 4-3 to Dunston. A minute later another Harrison free kick was deflected by a defender and struck the cross bar and rebounded clear.
.
On 72 Durham levelled as a ball form Noble was played into the packed Dunston area and Patton challenged and the ball ended up in the Dunston goal, was disaster going to strike
again, score now 4 -4. On 75, Halliday crossed and a McAndrew shot was tipped over the bar by Cook, 2 minutes later Scorer headed a Harrison free kick just over the bar, on 80 Munro had ashot saved by Connell, before Ormston received a ball on the edge of the box his lay back to Fenwick was ended in a shot wide of the target. On 87 Gibbons was fed through by Patton only for the alert Connell collecting the ball on the edge of his box. On 89 Gilhespy fed the ball through to McAndrew whose shot hit the side netting, then a Wilson cross was headed wide at the back post by defender Maley. Just when we all thought that was it Halliday shot and Gibbons handled the ball preventing a goal, he was justly sent off and Fenwick stepped up to place the penalty kick confidently into the net for the winner 5-4 to Dunston
.
Full time score: Dunston 5 Durham 4
.
Dunston should have had this game won a lot earlier but the resilience of the Durham side lead by Patton caused them trouble especially around the half time as they twice came back from 2 goals down but Dunston somehow got the winning goal which they deserved right on the final whistle.
.
Dunston Man of the Match: Scott Fenwick whose eventual hat trick was essential for this victory, others worthy of mentions were Connell, Gilhespy, and Bulford, while the supply of balls into the Durham goal area by Harrison and Halliday was tremendous.
