Dunston made the short travel to Jarrow to play Roofing in their reverse EBAC Northern League fixture. Jarrow won the reverse fixture at the UTS Stadium early in the season but since then both clubs have had similar results and currently find them with Jarrow in 4th place and Dunston in 5th separated by 3 pts but Dunston have a game in hand. Dunston are without Dixon (suspension), Kane , Scorer, and Connell (injuries), into the side come Clark and Smith after the Fa Vase victory at Whitley Bay. A pitch inspection was necessary after a frosty night but the game was declared on after a bright start to the morning.

Roofing applied pressure form the start and Dunston' s defence held strong, but it was Dunston who got the first chance as Smith played the ball back to Burrell who although off balance shot wide of the target on 4 minutes, a minute later a Harrison free kick went into the back post but Coulson was unable to get any direction on it and it went wide. Roofing were constantly reapplying pressed and on 8 Former Dunston strike Lewis Teasdale hit the post with the ball rebounding to Myers whose shot was deflected out for a corner. On 10 Morien had another shot which went wide and a minute later Teasdale ran at the defence and shot wide. The game was flowing quickly from box to box and on 13, Smith played in Bulford who shot wide, on 19, Ormston got up at the back post to head across to McAndrew whose shot went wide. On 25 Clark made a save from Myers who was only able to side foot a throw from Carson.

Five minutes later Teasdale again shot this time it was deflected wide by Burrell, from the corner kickthe tall Kirkup got in a header which Clark collected, 2 minutes later McAndrew put in a deep cross but Hunter collected to avert the danger. In the 36 minute Ormston and Bulford combined well but Ormston shot went wide across the Jarrow goal, before a low McAndrew cross reached Bulford only for a swift defensive challenge to prevent a shot. Jarrow came back on 40 as the hard working and effective Barnes at full back swung in a cross which Clark collected, a minute later Morien also swung in a cross which was also collected by Clark.

Half time score: 0-0

The second half started as the first had finished with both sides fighting for possession but again it was Dunston who got the first chance on 47 as Burrell's shot was deflected to the goalkeeper Hunter. On 49 Bulford got a good header onto a Harrison cross but Hunter saved, Jarrow retaliated and Carson crossed which was partly cleared to Myers whose shot was blocked. Jarrow were now applying pressure and blasting shots into the Dunston defence , one attempt beat Clark but the ball was cleared off the line on 55, Dunston fought back and on the hour Bulford took a through ball to the byline and his pull back to Burrell was shot wide of the near post. Jarrow again applied pressure on the Dunston defence with shots from all angles being blocked. On 70, Halliday won a loose ballon halfway, he advanced but his shot from the edge of the box went wide. On 74, Morien found himself with only Clark to beat but somehow Clark spread his body to prevent the ball with his foot, from going into the net.

A minute later Bulford ran under challenge towards the Jarrow goal and was fouled from behind while attempting to shoot, the Jarrow centre half was lucky only to be cautioned. The resulting free kick by Harrison went over the bar. On 77, McAandrew passed to Halliday whose shot was saved low down at the foot of the post. The last 10 minutes saw Dunston rear guard defence work hard and on 81 a Kirkup header at the back post was deflected by Myers but Clark saved. On 83, Barnes crossed but Morien, unmarked was unable to connect at the back post. Jarrow only had one more clear chance as Barnes shot wide as the Dunston defence failed to clear their lines.

Full time score: Jarrow Roofing 0 Dunston 0
.
In the end this was a result that suited both sides although both sides had chances to score and lay a foundation for victory, Dunston, however were subdued in midfield and missed the Dixon factor, but Jarrow to their credit pressed the Dunston defence hard and had three half hearted appeals for penalties turned down by the referee.
.
Dunston Man of the Match: Andy Clark who made three saves, one point blank to keep Dunston in the game, Bulford ran a positive game up front and was unfortunate in front of goal while the remainder of the side worked hard but were pushed hard by an eager Jarrow side who were themselves wanted a win.
