Dunston were at home again and welcomed West Allotment Celtic to the Dunston UTS Stadium for the EBAC Northern League. Allotment are currently climbing the table after gaining some creditable results while Dunston are again on a recovery mission after losing in the FA Vase to Ashford United and to league leaders Shildon. Manager Billy Irwin has again got injury problems and is forced to reshuffle his defence as Adam Wilkinson returns but Dan Smith is now on the treatment table as well as Steven Richardson who is only able to be included on the bench.
.
Dunston started well, playing some good possession football with Francis as the catalyst and creating two chances for Francis in the first 5 minutes, one over the bar and other blocked, again on 9, a Francis Free kick went over the post and cross bar. Allotment in the meantime had a free kick from 40 yards out which was cleared. Dunston continued to dominate but were unable to turn dominance into goals, while Allotment had a chance on 31 as Robinson turned well in the area but shot wide. As the game approached half time Dunston had chances from Thear, just wide of the near post, and Guerin and Francis failed to convert a cross to the back post, before Deagle drove in a low cross which Clark saved diving to his right.

Allotment came out in the second half and with the wind applied pressure and had chances on 46, as a Deagle shot was parried by Clark and cleared by Gilhespy and on 53 as Clark raced out to deflect an Allotment breakaway for a corner. Dunston had an effort from fisher was saved by Wells on 57, allotment continued to press and 64 minutes Wilkinson deflected a shot over the bar from a corner and on 69 a Wilkinson challenge on Taggart saw the ball strike the post and go out of play.
.
Dunston rallied and on 76, a Guerin header from a Francis cross went back across the goal. On 78, Allotment took the lead as Deagle fired in a free kick which rebounded to him his second shot was stopped by a tremendous save by Clark but the rebound fell to Henderson who shot home. Dunston replied on 81 when Bowey chipped a Richardson cross over the bar. Disaster for Dunston occurred on 85 as Pearson was adjudged to foul Young in the box and McRoberts struck the penalty home for 2- 0 to Allotment.
.
Final Score: Dunston 0 West Allotment 2
.
Once again the lack of selection and changes left Dunston with a reasonable side but one that was unable to provide goals, and a side who were unable to get back on even terms against a side who were eager and wanted to get a result. This was the second time this season that Dunston have had the possession against West Allotment but have fell to 2 late goals without reply.
.
Dunston’s Man of the Match: No one person shone out in this game although Alex Francis did possess the skill to create chances in the first half and a solid performance was needed by Andy Clark who was unable to prevent the goals which were conceded.
